Minister of Education, Ian Wishart and the Honourable Robert Sopuck visited SCCS for “I Love to Read Month”. We were honored by the visit to our school, apparently facilitating Minister Wishart’s first visit ever to an independent school! Together with school Admininstration, Dr. Penny and Mrs. Narynski, Board representative Nina McIntyre, and Grade 2 students Charlotte and Eden, the guests began the afternoon with a short tea party in Dr. Penny’s office. They then read to the Grade 1 and 2 students. Of special note, Mr. Sopuck read from his own book titled “A Life Outdoors” a collection of short stories/essays. One of the stories was of Eden, our very own SCCS student! The students in the class loved hearing her story.

The visit ended with Grade 7 Ambassadors taking Minister Wishart for a tour of the building.
