But my soul shall be joyful in the Lord and rejoice in his salvation.
My whole being will say: Lord, who is like you? (Ps. 35)
The students of SCCS are encouraged to think of ways to help others and to share their “gifts” – whatever they may be.
As part of our Advent activities, one of our Grade 8 students is spear-heading a special project. Attached below is a copy of the speech she gave to her classmates last week:
Hello fellow students and teachers, I’m Brooklynn. As many of you know the grade eight class has recently been to visit Siloam mission. I was so inspired by all of the volunteers making an amazing effort to help out our community, I thought to myself, “whatever can I do to make a difference”. It turns out, as they told us while on our tour, that they are always in need of soaps and shampoo. That’s when I came up with the idea to have a shampoo drive. I’m asking all of the middle years students to please being in any travel sized shampoos, conditioners, and body washes to your home room class to help the cause. Thank you for all of your support.
If you can – please drop off toiletries in the box located in the front entrance of the school.
